The project is due to one of the masters of Teruel baroque, José Martín de La Aldehuela. Another monument of interest in Orihuela is, without a doubt, the Tremedal Sanctuary, originally from the year 1748, rebuilt in 1880 after being destroyed by French troops in 1807, inside it houses the Interpretation Center of the Virgin of Tremedal.
